Words That Got Lost By Staring At Your Lips. Poem by A Waltz For Zizi

Words That Got Lost By Staring At Your Lips.

I look for you
under the things
you (used to) hide:

under the avalanche of leaves
that brush my feet in autumn
when I walk past the benches
that tortured you;

In the flames painted
on trees, dripping
on the streets of a tiny city
We grew up in
a city that stole
much of my bravery;

Behind the shadow of a cat
hunting for flies and little birds,
following it up the stairs,
hoping that you will be there
at the top of all, with your little lips
In an insignificant smile, and your lips
need not be red, but transparent,
like your skin that allows me
to see your heart;

And in the memories when you
are making fun of me because
I sometime hide behind long pauses
And hope you've not noticed
How I look at your lips;

In exile of you, somehow
I've not found you cruel,
nor undressed you
For I I will not attempt
such an act of childish revenge
on an empty page.
