Words Live Beyond Mere Death Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Words Live Beyond Mere Death

Shall I be caged by human fears
Stay in chosen confinement,
Be blind to what I see or hear
In safety, remain silent?

Shall I now look the other way,
Not speak or write what's wrong?
And live this void life everyday
Deny where I belong?

Yet I must write what I think
Though dire the consequence define!
Truth and Life are my pen's ink
I'll put my life on the line.

I write what's there for I must
Let words strike the target!
I can't live as worthless dust-
Because......words live beyond mere death.
