Words Convoluted Poem by Owen Bittner

Words Convoluted

Hardened of contempt, lamenting words unsaid
better to have loved they preach.
Pompous words revealed; do they ever live
to suffer a moment of what they teach? 166

Sense of something new; old expectations of pain
depraved wraith of the past you host.
Keeper of pain, raging cancer and vile,
until defecated upon the one you love most. 58

Taken for granted the knowing I will be here
a safety net; a heart should be more.
Tail wagging, awaiting Mother Hubbard to tire of
the handsome new face, same as the ones before. 12

Deceived by trust and love; just lies of your game
convoluted words fantasy and truth.
Twisted words satiate your guilt, ensure your control
conjunct known only to you. 1
