Words By Aunt Ethel Poem by Marilyn Lott

Words By Aunt Ethel

Rating: 3.0

I came upon a photo album
All tattered now with age
And the words of Aunt Ethel
Are written on every page

Aunt Ethel was such a treasure
Why, she was Involved in everything
She could play an instrument or two
And no doubt she could also sing

A zest for living it was said
Why, you can see upon her face
How she put her whole heart in
What she did in every case

The Kilty band excited her
Well, it was back in ‘33
Sitting proudly upon a car
For all the world to see

Charming, was aunt Ethel
She just made you want to smile
Fascinating things she’d say and do
Folks loved to visit her awhile

Proudly holding Charles, Jr, my father
You can see her happiness so plain
A photo of her holding him in her arms
To her he was everything

I’m sure most folks have someone
In the family albums too
For Aunt Ethel was a favorite
Was there an Aunt like Ethel for you?
