i feel an ocean inside me
the whole world inside me
i cannot let it out
i cannot let it go
i feel it building up inside me
threatening to crash over the storm walls and overflow into the air around me
i feel more words than even i know
more words that Miriam
more words than anyone knows
they're trembling on my tongue and rushing through my veins
i love i love i love the words
but how they hound me
restless
i walk above the earth letting words like
levitate
lift me off the ground
and if i put my pencil to the page
i cannot stop the flow
and the page knows all my secrets and holds all the words i can't keep inside me
and i cry when the covers inside me close and the words are gone
my pen stops moving and the words are gone
the books take them back and i am lost without the words
