Word Shadows Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Word Shadows

Script of soul, is bled to page,
from mind to point of pen;
thoughts, of mind's intent to find,
an answer from within;
yearn in heart, aches of thoughts,
implied by conscious yin;
gives, of one's ideas complete,
of life, before it ends.

Consciousness, construed of blood,
pumped through the spirit's heart;
contains a wealth of knowledge,
seemingly impossible to impart;
wisdoms leached from living's tasks,
fond memories of life's start;
wealth, stood deep and secrets seeped,
in truths, kept within mind's dark.

Word meanings live life in shadows,
blocked, by minds that misperceive;
strength is weakened by loose thoughts,
destined to aggrieve;
equals, trend inequality,
hearts worn on sleeve deceive;
life, crippled before it's time,
mind stunned by death's conceive.

Discovery, in bliss of whim,
that word shadows heal the blind;
breaking, the blocks of knowledge,
thought in each, and every mind;
mindless beings, once man's bane,
open souls and feel the find;
hearts, bridged to hearts,
connected throughout all space and time.

Penned point leads, to pathways passed,
releasing constricted views;
knowledge, then can leap the cliff,
expose to minds facts true;
loosenings in the will of thoughts,
definitions, of each words clue;
minds, then discharge life's truths,
for one's conscience, to peruse.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I really like this poem the best of what I've read from you. Not because of the rhyme and time though that is unwavering and done so quite well but because of the theme within this piece. A searching for truth and connection in life and death. If you I were to sum up time in this poem it is imagination. The past, present and future all exist simultaneously within the imagination of ones mind. It is our perception in moving through time/imagination that binds us to this place whereas when we pass through death's door unbound by this physical prison that holds us we reconnect with everything we've always known but was kept within the shadows of our subconscious mind that we view subjectively. But also the universal consciousness we feel and sense through blind connection but don't quite understand. This is very creative and heartfelt piece of art.
