Wont You Let Me Help? Poem by Lacey Saulisbury

Wont You Let Me Help?

Behind your voice, I hear your sadness,

Behind that smile, I see your tears,

Behind your nails, I know you're nervous,

Behind those eyes, I see your fears.

Behind your jeans, I feel your scars,

Behind your gloves, I see your wrists,

Behind your music, I hear you screaming,

Behind your fingers, I see your fists.

Behind your make-up, I see those scars,

Behind your bangs, I see those circles,

Behind your clothes, I know feelings,

Behind your hood, that bruise color purple.

Behind your pockets, I see the razor blade,

Behind you laughter, I see your mask,

Behind your bones, I see you don't eat.

I do care, but dare I ask?
