Wondering Mind

One wonders why
Horses can’t fly
Yet unicorns do
I know because
I’ve seen a few
The mind it seems
Stores thought in reams
And stores short notes
Of bounding goats
Chasing unicorns
Before it storms
And they melt away
Like children’s clay
What more can I say
My mind wanders
That way…

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
