Woman Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Woman

Rating: 5.0

I am a happy man,
A woman I love,
I am a nice man,
A woman loves me.
I don’t want to see her,
Illiterate and ignorant,
For me she is not merely a luxury,
She is need of my body,
She is need of my heart,
She is need of my soul,
She can wipe the tears,
She removes the fears,
She can heal the wounds,
She takes care of children,
She takes care of house,
She is a lovely spouse.
She is a mother I love,
She is a sister I love,
She is a daughter I love,
As a friend,
She is a Barbie doll.

And you want to keep her,
Illiterate and ignorant,
You burn her schools,
You burn her alive,
For you she is merely a toy,
A device of your pleasure,
Your ugly caricature!
You can’t put the clock back,
You can’t change her fate,
She will rise like Malala,
An electric current,
Of thousand volt,
She will revolt!

This is a phenomenal poem and it goes into the list of my favourite poems. The poem is a great tribute to the woman and womanhood who has been the essence of a civiilised and progressive society unlike what the MCPs of the world including Talibans.
