Woe Is Me? Poem by Jason Murak

Woe Is Me?

Woe is me, Woe is me,
The common term used to express distraught
I feel so alone, this lesson, my daddy never taught
I wont let myself call it 'wasted time'
I wrote so much about it but I wont call it wasted rhyme
I tried to steal your love, a kiss, but this was all wasted crime
Still thinking about this situation, is this what its supposed to be?
My only conclusion is woe is me, woe is me
For months I poured my heart into pages
I dreamt of our future, looking into the ages
In the past, my life has gone through similar phases
But our relationship was definitely in the top 2 places
and your number one
I have to say, i couldnt see it coming
But when the tidal wave hit, i just went running
Then i stopped, faced the fate, my energy spent
A wave of emotions, Im totally drenched
I was still thirsty for more, But your thirst had been quenched
My heart sat in the 4th quarter, He got benched
You told me time was the issue, my mortal enemy
All I can do is cry woe is me, woe is me
