Without Forcing Us Poem by Gert Strydom

Without Forcing Us

Now I have to go and get ready
that I can go out,
before the fatalism
catches me
and I wonder where it fit into religion.

If you first have to consider
if everything you do
are influenced by fate
and if God maybe
controls it on His own
and try and life
as if you first have got to get
His act of will for it,
life passes you
with time.

God is everywhere
and yet He leaves a choice
of how our lives go
without forcing us
into a set pattern.
