Within The Cradle Of The Crescent Moon Poem by Cathryn Adeli

Within The Cradle Of The Crescent Moon

Rating: 5.0

within in the cradle of the crescent moon
i sail the milky way into the green lagoon
to hear my mother's song and fairies tell
of shahrazad and nightingales.
of knights and dragons and the holy grail
of david and madonnas in blue veils
over the rainbow higher than a balloon
i sail the milky way into the green lagoon
where fireflies light and seafoam perfumes
awaiting the sound of the ancient tunes
of singing dolphins and the great white whales
who hear my mother's song and fairy tales
that first i heard as i lay in her womb
then soothing me into the nursery room
the soft music and bittersweet scales
of sharhazad and nightingales
each new season they have and will prevail
i honor her as i follow my trail
and listen to hear her croon as lilacs bloom
within the cradle of the crescent moon
