Within It Buried, What Once Was Poem by Marcus McKinley

Within It Buried, What Once Was

Tell me darling where are you?
Are you here… in my aching heart?
Are you here… in my divagated mind?
Are you trailing far behind?

It seems that we have lost our way
Drifting farther every day
Equating to a setting sun
Losing sight across horizons

Braving this cold and lonely road
Among the hopeless dreams of man
Profound, what fills this shallow hole
The single source of all I am

Forsaken thee in haste, I have
In circumstance, may fate elude
Killing me, it surely is…
This magnitude of love for you
