Within Poem by James Fanthorpe

Within

savaged i've been
by the shame of thruth
hurt buried too deep
for shovels to reveal
malice creeps amongst hollow smiles
sense draines from earnest hopes
expectation carries the burden of
worthless loss whilst
always trusting faith to save
the ghosts of the soul
steal silent moments between
fear of nothingness
break my torment with
lust for resent
beat my cycle of nothing
no not now
never declare
beast in me only my dreams can scare
