Withering Wings Poem by rajagopal haran

Withering Wings

Rating: 5.0

An egg is hatched
The fledgling crawls out of its shell
Unable to see and unable to fly
Limps around in pitch black darkness

Mother bird feeds it with fondness
Not only food but also love
Lots of sunrises and sunsets
Accrues into days of inaction

Wishes of the mother winnows into wings
Waning fears with the vigor of nature
Trials into air under
The paragon of love’s care

D-day has come
Taking off the plane
Detours the fledgling flying far away
Forgetting the mother!

parting is such a sorrow...passions runnig wild...to separate is hard...but at sometime..it must be done...and the way you put it...was gentle....great job

great poem, very interesting, i love the image you create of the fledgling and that you chose to focus on a bird was really intriguing. a nice turn around too with D-day and leaving the mother in the end

i admire ur observation of things happening around you, altho they are just the routine things, bt u capture each emotion incredibly well, leving the reader astonished and hit by thought of double meaning, which sure arent or are there, an observant and emotionally charged poet.....bt thts lyf, altho was ordained 4 jus animals and birds, bt v humans r also gting into same shels and taking the same flights of never retreating, to parents who care so much and love us untill eternity...loved it dear...butifull..
