Withered Garden Poem by T.James Becker

Withered Garden

Rating: 5.0

My special garden was tended with care
nourished with friendship blooms precious and rare
side by side we stood tall and strong
always together each one had a song

but the song became crying bright colors drained
left without warning, never slowed or explained
Heavy is the heart that once beat with joy
ladened with sorrow sweet comfort destroyed

sitting alone it seemed so unfair
friendship is gone the ground is now bare
as melancholy tears fell on dry ground
new buds were blooming all scattered around

Blinded by shock, confusion and pain
overlooking the one that helped me sustain
So I'll smile proudly and be on my way
I still have a garden a faithful bouquet
