Withdraw Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Withdraw

Withdraw deep into your sea

Coral reefs of red gold

Remember every exotic flower

Savor vulnerable violins

Sorrow blows in the wind

The men of knowledge revel

They revel with our world

We must say goodbye

We must separate like dawn

Shine my darling and never tarnish

Shells of smooth praise

No razors edge

No war

Cry like Saint Teresa

I know you see my collateral damage

Somehow the temple is being built

I love you like art

I love you like thirst

Perfection is simply not of this world

The bells toll like extra terrestrials

We must withdraw to begin
