Withdraw From Feeling Poem by Jason Sherrill

Withdraw From Feeling

Oh where are you my little pill
The ones in the bottle I refill
The ones that make me go downhill
you are the ones that instill
the ones that make me spill
the feelings that thrill
the feelings of goodwill
making my heart chill
making me not feel real
they are supposed to make me stabile
but they just take my freewill
i always fight uphill
that is untill
I top the foothill
the mountain landfill
where I find the windmill
the fins at a standstill
feels more like a sawmill
my soul on the grill
its all I can feel
the burns that never heal
but what does this pain reveal
something surreal
something unreal
it means I can feel
