Wistful Poem by Meli Secret

Wistful

Let my love and heart be wistful.
Wistful smiles bring cool relief.
Wistful eyes look back and forward,
they don't hope to snatch and keep.

Wistful wishes are not wishes.
They're dreams of dreams that might have been.
A little moment of love so cherished
despite the fact it has never been.

Wistful loving has no darkness.
Only twilight where we sleep.
Lovers entwined in half waking slumber.
Wistful smiles and dreams that keep.

So, I'll love you with wistful fervor.
And you may be walking away from me.
But there's a wistful couple walking a garden.
The wistful heart is always free.
