Wishful Thinking Poem by Ida Faye

Wishful Thinking

Rating: 4.8

What a delight it might be
For a good sight to see
Two perfect strangers
To the playful hands of time
Stranded unexpectedly

One is reserved
To a world unknown
While the other is wise
And loquacious, yet
Time is tricky and playful

Had it been known
She would have stopped
Had it been known
He would have kept his distance
Again, time is tricky and playful

He is a traveler, a citizen of the world
She is a wanderer, an island in a crowd
But for the world they once shared
And for the beliefs they had in common
Nothing seems to be impossible

And now, in a single twist and turn
All she had is a wishful thinking
That their worlds would collide
And for another chance of time
They will live in the same world again

The beauty of poetry is in the articulation, penning and insight. A well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned with insight. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Ida. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
