Wishes Poem by Saltedpeanut Blank

Wishes

Rating: 4.5

Make him wish,
make him hope for a smile
for an end to searching,
running on dreams
tired as an old dog
decrepit legs slowly giving

So much anguish
forcing sight to blur
and sights to fade
yet never come to be forgotten.

Memories of undone and done
haunt in the quiet
in a room of strangers
in a room alone.

Thoughts like daggers
come at night
always finding their prey
as they penetrate young hearts,
hearts now embellished with scars.

Waving from far
they look on laughing
but they can't see,
see as he puts on his show
the cry for someone to save him from drowning,
the cry no one sees.

No you can not
you can not solve this.
This impassable obstacle,
this was not made for anyone.

Make him hope
to live not a life span
not another day of being
but to live a life,
after all it's what he needs,
hope for wishes that don't evaporate.
