Wish You Could See Poem by Joseph Caraveo

Wish You Could See

I still remember pecan pies, life saver angels
Tender lullabies
I still remember the hurt and pain
It holds me down everyday
I understand, because I’m you too
It hurt no less I needed you
I grew up hard, grew up mean
Not much chance at living my dream
Forgot what they were, it’s been so long
A scared little boy just holding on
I don’t want too look back with tears of regret
I pray for forgiveness for both our sakes
It took a while
But I’m proud of me
I’m a good man now…..wish you could see
