Wish List Poem by Carlos Ornelas

Wish List

Rating: 5.0

Wishing my Stanza
Was Pretty as Sandra's
Never had pictures
With Hollywood Santa
Not for the lack of
The money for cameras
It’s just, my wish list
Is simple in Christmas-

Kwanza and Hanukkah
Feliz Navidad
The feeling of Cinqué
Aboard La Amistad
After the Jingle
Of shackles at sea
I'm hanging my debts
On the grenadine tree.

Some sort of therapy
Lemon-Leaf tea
Recipe grown from
My Family tree
Somehow the holiday’s
Always repeated
This time I’m saving
My gifts for when needed.
