Wise People Poem by Francis Duggan

Wise People

Wise people are people who do not feel wise
The depth of their wisdom they do not realize
Not arrogant or conceited in any way
Though very profound things you do hear them say
They are quite good listeners and sparing on speech
And to others they do not think they have much to teach
They never grow angry or carry a grudge
Or feel that they have the right others to judge
A wise person does not live on every street
And few of them I have been privileged to meet
Education for wisdom is not a necessary thing
And of the wise the praises few bother to sing
And a wise person one does not meet every day
They are very rare which does seem sad to say.
