Wintery Style Poem by Sam Burton

Wintery Style

A spring day
long forgotten wintery style
you tremble, cause its been a while
being teased by the inevitable falling skies
and by the time you realize
the delicacy of a breath
of everything you left in their eyes
he's gone

Like a memory
a shadow in a dream
he dances in your mind
you have no idea
what kept waiting
what caused the fading
of a perfect intricate design

but he's calling you less often
and you hate in heart to admit
his voice was a calming motion
in a wave of pain on the side
question
has he moved on to another passion
longer and fewer in strides?

but you'll still never admit
you miss the wintery breath on your toes
the icy landscapes
from so many years ago
fix
there's no fixing this
do you miss?
you miss his wintery style
