Winter Time Beauty Poem by Dr Tapan Kumar Pradhan

Winter Time Beauty

Rating: 4.3

I would like the scene evergreen
In the woodlands of mine,
Ever glowing, ever shining bright
Besides the woods of pine!

Trees standing in the air
As tall as winter ghosts,
Branches hanging with tiny leaves
Trembling in the gentle frost!

Creepers creeping over the fence
With tiny blossoms that glisten,
And smiling red comes the sun
And golden turns the woodland green!

Red and yellow butter-flies
Dancing merrily on the flowers,
Hornets buzzing a lonely song
During the busy morning hours!

Neatly made spider webs
Watery in the morning dew
Making rainbows in the air
As the sun falls through!

The cool breeze that blows
And the clouds floating high
And the murmur I would like
From the streams passing by!

Meadows stretching dark and green
To the land of far beyond
Where does the sky get vanished
And stand the mountains tall and bold!

Birds flying high overheads
Singing songs in funny rows,
Busy working as goes the dark
And tender morning light shows!

The sunny morning breezes past -
Past the sorrows of the world,
And shows the way how to smile
As a champ, hale and bold!

I would think amid the beauty
Nature would bring before me:
What is sorrow and what is burden
When the winter kisses thee!
