Winter Season Poem by Marilyn Lott

Winter Season

Rating: 1.8

You know, it was only yesterday
When summer flowers bloomed
Overflowing plants were such
You had to take tools and groom

The sun blazed so hot that we
Looked for fat trees and shade
Oh, what happened to summer?
When did it start to fade?

Autumn came, it seemed too soon
The leaves turned and fell so fast
Ah yes, delightful autumn
We knew that it couldn’t last

And then rain in its squishy mess
Some flooding came as well
It’s part of the season, of course
Doesn’t take long for us to tell

Now, my friend, the snow has come
Up in the mountains for sure
But don’t you love the winter season
So cold, so white, so pure?
