Winter Scene Poem by Michael Carlson

Winter Scene

One cold December day
As the ground lay blanked in snow
In a dazzling display
The most beautiful show

The branches of a willow tree
Covered with crystal ice
In something i can hardly believe
Because it looks so nice

I can barely feel the cold upon face
As i look upon this place
My mind can't seem
To understand how this isn't a dream

It's breath taking
Mind numbing
Heart thumping
Fear breaking

I never want it to go
And i never want to leave
But the water will start to flow....
And i know

That spring will come around
And this beautiful place is bound
To melt into the ground
With barely a sound.
and I'll have to wait until winter can once again found
