Winter's War Poem by Tim Vallie

Winter's War

Drowning deep in daylight
Snowfall burying me deep
In that deep cold white
In my bones the cold does seep
Sun reflecting off the snow
Blinding to the eyes
Off the glare ice does glow
White clouds falling from the sky
In the winter never ending
Wind chilling to the bone
From the sky, the white descending
Drifts across the land are blown
Old King Winter reigns
With a hand of icy fury
The cold can bring you pain
Even in a simple flurry
The winter wind declares war
With each of every gust
Seeking to freeze the earth evermore
In ice and snow and rust
