Winter Canvas Poem by Yasmin Khan

Winter Canvas

Rating: 5.0

How to paint winter's grey canvas?
Shrouded horizons, benumbed airs?
Some roses bloom fighting frost
Hoary grasses sleep in icy blast

In bleak evenings like a ghost
With a pale lamp trying her utmost
Ascends the Empress of the night
Skirmishing with murk her serene light!

On a bare branch a lonesome bird
Sings a faint song, weak and slurred
Yet still some sweetness from her lay
Drips in the ears, well ends the day

In a balmy niche through window panes
My stray thoughts though not insane
Envision light-some moments of the spring
When rapturous tunes will trill n ring

Thus, there are moments of lonely musings
Visions, indulgences, shared reminiscences
Quell the empty stillness bringing grace
Fills the heart with beatitude, a kindly embrace!

Even in moments of icy chill and frost, some rays of bright light occasionally fall on us and brighten our lives! There lies the beauty of life! You have painted the winter canvas beautifully in subdued shades! Glad to see you back Yasmeen!

On a bare branch a lonesome bird Sings a faint song, weak and slurred Yet still some sweetness from her lay Drips in the ears, well ends the day It's an amazing description that ends in a philosophic thought. Thus, there are moments of lonely musings Visions, indulgences, shared reminiscences Quell the empty stillness bringing grace Fills the heart with beatitude, a kindly embrace!
