Winter Poem by Matt Burgett

Winter

The winter has a silence
Within its bitter cold
A cold feeling of death
That never gets old

So when you're feeling down
If you give the cold a chance
Your body it will surround
And your lungs it will collapse

With a hold on you, you can not break
Unless you get inside
Caught in the cold can be a mistake
When you're not found alive

Winter in the mountains
Is mother nature at its worst
Frostbite within an hour
Is natures never ending curse

To loose a finger tip or two
Gone forever all because
Someone stupid such as you
Went into the winter without gloves
