Windy Poem by Don Pengilly

Windy

Rating: 4.5

It can get very windy
Down there on the coast
Now that I’m living inland
I think I like the most
It’s really very sheltered here
Surrounded by the trees
Though sometimes I am missing
The raging of the seas

It’s really not that far away
To go and spend some time
Just sitting there and watching
It all looks so sublime
The beach is sparse of people
This wintry time of year
But for those who brave it
The winds not so severe

It has a kind of beauty
That’s not seen far inland
The wind blows strongly in your face
As it whips up sea and sand
Maybe when my times near done
I’ll find a place by sea and sun
And let the wind blow in my face
Till I’m gone without a trace

A very well-crafted poem.
