William Shakespeare's New Word Patches Poem by Terence George Craddock

William Shakespeare's New Word Patches

what as learned scholars
at Oxford Cambridge knew
did William Shakespeare do
when he could not find...
the exact word he needed
for a new piece of prose
be it a theme play or poetry
he was upon that moment...

passionately writing?
well Shakespeare said
'oh dear never fear' while
scratching his egg clutching his quill
poised over ink pot and parchment
pondering searching out options?

then in swift
sudden eureka flash flickering...
bright candle comes
on; remember light bulbs
had not been invented yet?
but pray tell why did not
young William or older aging
William simply not take short cut...

look up words in the dictionary?
alas forsooth dictionary has not
been invented, spelling has not
been standardized, Samuel Johnson has not
invented a first writ dictionary yet;
but of course you would not know that?

the poem 'Dr Samuel Johnson's Dictionary
Masterpiece' will not be written by Terence...
George Craddock until May 2012! returning
to prime main plot our subtle hidden themes?
which is Shakespeare 'Can't find the words
he's looking for (drum roll, spotlight, rising
tempo!) INVENTS THEM' thus inspirational
take those words impose them over a portrait...

of William Shakespeare looking back at
us from his portrait eyes following reflecting
on our moves egg head noodle reseeding
hairline he scratched earlier while clutching
his quill poised over ink pot and parchment
pondering searching out options clearly

prominent
all done with muddy
brown background
and yes poem lovers...
