Will I Know Life And Death In Paradise? Poem by Mark Heathcote

Will I Know Life And Death In Paradise?

Will I know life and death in paradise?
Will I feel hunger and thirst?
Will I experience warmth even when I'm cold?
Will, I shed tears of happiness when I'm dead?
Will I cherish the memories of my child's first breath?
Will I acknowledge love and heartbreak?
Will I inhale the fragrances of flowers the same.
Will I cherish friendship the same when I'm dead?
Oh, will I know life and death in paradise?
Or will complete happiness just simply be the end
Will I just pretend heaven is completeness?
Oh, why would I pretend without pain?
Without desire without cold or hunger
Eternity would be my best friend.
