Widen Your Eyes

Open your eyes and let light in
Let wisdom be your friend
Open your heart let Jesus win
True love’s grace, without end

Through Jesus, so few think about
So few, have will to find
Selfish living, festooned with doubt
Stumbling like most mankind

Shaking their heads in disbelief
Virtually alone
Thus remaining, until a wreath
Will adorn, their grave stone

But only a while, without The Christ
Like demons their rest will cease
Rejecting Jesus, sacrificed
In hell they’ll find no peace

In fire burning forever
Nothing to eat or drink
No one your chains will sever
However deep you sink

A prayer will no one hear there
Regardless of your strife
Whatever suffering you share
Is payment for this life

The time is now for souls to change
Seek Heaven’s guiding hand
That grace your life will rearrange
To live as always planned

But will you hear and turn now?
Will you pray Life’s Lamp within?
At Jesus’ feet humbly bow
For love to take your sin…..
