Wide Awake Poem by Lee Claiborne

Wide Awake

If only I could rip off these pains of truth, & slip on something more soothing,

Let go of this frozen reality
& dive back into my illusions

But misery has cut off my eyelids
& forces me to stay awake

Death may hold a bit of peace
But for sleep it is much to late.
