Wide Awake Poem by Eliza Crawford

Wide Awake

2 am and I'm wide awake
My mind refusing to be silenced
My eyes refusing to shut

I can not fall asleep
Tomorrow I will be drained of all energy
Weak and useless to the world

But I do not mind
For now is all that matters
Thoughts and memories filling my eyes with bliss

I can not sleep
But I do not want to
For at the moment, life is more interesting
Than dreams and sleep
