Why Tomorrow Poem by Venkateswaran Krishnan Sreenivasan

Why Tomorrow

Today greets you with hopeful stare,
While unseen tomorrow instills scare.
Why dream of an uncertain day beyond
Ignoring the day here and around?

Your vigor today is a God given need
To energize you for ennobling deed
It reveals its worth only when lost
Like a jewel you treasure utmost.

Share this moment of gloom or joy
With someone who feels it as his own
A fond recall will act as a buoy
When you are desperate and lone.

Riches are but a fleeting shadow
That man pursues like a mirage,
Unused and stored up for tomorrow,
They bring untold sorrow in a flash.

Be tied to your duties of each passing day
And be conscious of your way.
Time races stealing your idle years
To hasten your ageing cares and fears.

Right before you is the real today
While uncertain is the dream of tomorrow.
What needs to be done today
Do not put off to tomorrow.
