Why It's Done Poem by Raven Black

Why It's Done

I don't deny the pain is real
can not hide the way I feel
but until something seals the deal
I have to look away

And I'll pretend forever more
that I can hold on one day more
and leave my dreams on cold stone floors
I do it every day

So throw me in the pending file
I stand accused
my soul on trial
I swear to all that lies above
I do this all for life
and Love

They point their fingers glaring down
and mock me like a circus clown
and there are days I'm sure I'll drown
I tread the waters still

They tell me I have wronged my heart
to end what I had feared to start
but I can not upset the cart
pushing up that hill

I'll keep my place
at the end of the line
and wait my turn
because that's just fine
I swear to all the stars above
I do it all for life
and Love

I don't know where the road will end
or how the water colors blend
and I'll attempt to make amends
that's all that I can do

Each day the weight bares down so hard
but I still hold the wild card
when every stars' a mirror shard
All I see is You

I'll blow a kiss across the miles
and send my hugs and silly smiles
I swear to all the souls above
I do it all for life
And Love
