Why I Prefer Double Standard Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Why I Prefer Double Standard

Rating: 5.0

Why I prefer double standard?
Sometimes inner conscience revolt and bombard
Believes in what is told or heard,
Always remain protective and slightly feared

There lives wild animal tendency inside
Nurturing evils and many wrong things besides
Not allowing good things to surface,
Projecting bad things as good and hiding ugly face,

Curbing reaction successfully and offer smile,
Make it sure that others not catch it for a while,
It senses danger from a distance of mile,
Preparing self for face off meanwhile,

Try to look humble, simple and honest
Wait for the opportunity to be used as best
Make quick and bold move next,
With touching words without prepared text,

May be I am gifted with such a fine quality,
Using it for good and as best utility,
Is it need of an hour for diversity?
Or present the solidarity with show of unity?

Well, I may enjoy and remain cool,
Let others stay away and look fool,
I make the effort for easy sailing,
While others struggle and start failing

No one can judge my inner feeling,
Money, fame and honour simply coming
Never caught unaware as I act wise,
Get lion’s share and big piece of slice,

It helps to build image and reputation,
People come for advice and consultation,
I never displease them and invite wrath,
Offer the condolence and lay a wreath,

I may not be liking the act but to perform,
Words, deeds and action to transform,
Simplest way is to keep aloof and remain in form,
Like earth protecting sects including worm
