Why I Didn’t Do My Homework Poem by Christal Carpenter

Why I Didn’t Do My Homework

I was to busy daydreaming
Daydreaming about the fair
To busy daydreaming
That he would meet me there

I was to busy wishing
Wishing on a star
To busy wishing
That we would make It far

I was to busy singing
Singing a little song
To busy singing
And knowing nothings wrong

I was to busy listening
Listening to what he had to say
To busy listening
About his wonderful day

I was to busy laughing
Laughing out loud
To busy laughing
And floating on a cloud

I was to busy hoping
Hoping every things alright
To busy hoping
He’d stay another night

I was to busy whispering
Whispering “I hope it’s true”
To busy whispering
The words of “I love you too”
