Whole In Your Heart Poem by John Paul Butler

Whole In Your Heart

Your heart is in the country
You used to have a place there
To go and visit at the weekends
And rediscover that part of you

Your heart is in the country
Having lost your mind in the city
Your soul was going the same way
So you hid your heart there

Now if they want to finish you
They'll have to find where it's kept
Now if they want to kill you
Your heart is an entire country
