Who Should I Tell? Poem by Jinge Norvall

Who Should I Tell?

Who can I open my heart to,
When the anger writhes within..
like hissing snakes
that bite & spit
desperate for freedom..

Who will channel this fury,
that seethes &
tears apart
Every good intention -
my desire not to hurt...

Surely the words
that now spew forth
from lips that vent
the ire..

Expunge the poison
from my soul…
from whence it came
so bitter...

But where, I wonder, does it go?
to heart & mind & spirit
Of those who stand too near at hand..
who watched the flood
arising..

The ones who now stand lonely..
Marooned on higher ground -
Destruction & devastation
Are all they see around them.
