Who Loved Not Me Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

Who Loved Not Me

I gathered flowers in the spring
Such sweetness filled the air,
But all my thoughts were sweeter still
When love was young and fair.

I gathered raindrops in the summer
To wash my tears away;
The love that blinded my heart and eyes
Did not ever stay.

I gathered moonbeams in the fall
To soothe my gloomy mood;
My youthful heart was badly broken
By the love I had persued.

I gathered snowflakes in the winter
But for love, I did not see
Like the snow that slowly faded
I loved the one who loved not me.
