Who Knew Poem by Dawn Thompson

Who Knew

How simple a phrase
That we all once said
Though if we’d only known the places that it lead
Paths we visited though said never again
Those people we tolerated we called friends
Family, misunderstood
The real misunderstanding was in me not you
I should of known
Dedicated my life to the pain
I knew your look your way your game
I didn’t know your Name
Although I made it my plight
I stood just the same…who knew
In the light
