Who Are You? Poem by Norman Jin Shyr Wang

Who Are You?

Rating: 5.0

You struggled to know yourself and know it slow.
You found to choose between the east and the west.
You fought yourself in failures and learned it to grow.

Your parents told you to keep your culture tough.
Your teachers taught you to live only for yourself.
You struggled to know yourself and know it slow.

Of many great people you were fascinated to build.
You patterned your life with conscience of guilt.
You fought yourself in failures and learned it to grow.

When came to the lovely things to pick from the world
you ran away from the beauty and the beast of all.
You struggled to know yourself and know it slow.

Your friends were happily married in riches to glow.
Your God asked you to live a simple life not to show.
You fought yourself in failures and learned it to grow.

One day you gained in fame but old with pains.
You felt of little strength with some breaths to pant.
You struggled to know yourself and know it slow.
You fought yourself in failures and learned it to grow.
