Who Are The Bards? Poem by Tony Adams

Who Are The Bards?

whether poets by heritage
or a songstress by trade
they create lilting melodies
or use words like a blade

bards are the heralds
who's words spring to life
with tales of wonder and glory
or scary stories in the night

they can speak of such passions
that all who might hear
fall smitten in a fashion
when the words touch their ears

their voice can raise spirits
or calm hostile crowds
so blessed are their lyrics
that even kings too them bow
