White Raven, Black Sun Poem by Patty Rose

White Raven, Black Sun

White raven soars
before the eclipse of the sun
paradox of light and dark
a phoenix dipped in fire

For all of darkness
reveals a light unseen
all of light
casts a shadow

In this prism of refraction
lies a meaning to life
where the window’s reflection
has one before, one behind

Together seen unknown
like the axis of an eye
a kaleidoscope of kind
not known by our mind

To find the white raven once again
soar before the sun’s eclipse
wings tipped gold to capture its fury
dancing in its ring of fire
