krishnakumar chandrasekar nair

(1964 and doing pretty good.. / Thiruvalla, Kerala)

Where the mind is always in fear..............

Where the mind is always in fear and heads are hung low
Where law and order is as good as a free for all
Where the world has been broken into a million fragments
By narrow self serving dirty political walls
Where words (printed/spoken) no longer come from the depths of truth
Where tired, toiling masses have stopped stretching arms for justice and perfection
Where the murky polluted stream of crime and corruption has found its way
Into this once ever green beautiful land of living saints
Where the mind is no longer gently led by Thee
But dragged by Satan into the ever narrowing lane of evil and inaction
From this ghastly nightmare (called freedom) , my Father, shake me awake

(With due apologies to Gurudev Tagore)

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I have tried to picture the present state of affairs in this world. The amount of violence/crime and other negative things that plague this planet is indeed mind boggling.

Poem with great message. Very true said, today our mind is always in fear, due to all negative things happening around us. It's a fact and sad too. (Report) Reply

Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
