Where is the bright side,
When discord and pain,
Fall from the sky,
Like drops of rain?

Where is the bright side,
When hate fills the walls,
Envelopes the ceiling,
And lurks in the halls?

Where is the bright side,
When in my own mind,
A single thought of happiness,
Is impossible to find?

Where is the bright side,
When safety becomes harm,
And the ideals of the future,
Begin to lose luster and charm?

Where is the bright side,
When faith cannot save,
The optimism and joy,
And hope it once gave?

Where is the bright side,
When thoughts turn dark,
And all resistance is needed,
To sever its mark?

Where is the bright side,
When tempers flare,
Destroying the bonds,
That are ever so rare?

Where is the bright side,
When eyes turn blind,
Cast anger in,
And leave control behind?

Where is the bright side,
When love disappears,
Revealing my hidden,
And Darkest fears.

Where is the bright side,
When tears run dry,
Yet they wish to come forth,
For I don't understand why…
